All right – we’re in an embargo period with 1More and we cannot do a review-review of these earbuds, so this is a first-impressions video DHRME Style. Let’s start with what you get in the box. It’s a fairly standard 1More unboxing experience – you get the case and earbuds – duh. The USB C cable is there, but what we really liked about it is that you get 5 sizes of silicone tips. More on that in a bit.

The 1More Evo Black and White versions

We have 8 important things to go through here.

  • Let’s start with the build quality because it’s just.. SOLID. It’s a hefty case with a rubber base and a solid feel. Did we say solid? And the reason for the heft? Well it isn’t your typical plastic case but it’s made with anodized aluminium alloy which supposedly should make it more durable and scratch resistant. Only time will tell. But the case as well as the buds are premium looking too with a glossy finish that doesn’t look cheap. Let’s do a hinge test. -hinge shaking- All right we’ll give the hinge a 7/10. 1More says it’s using a unique 3D ceramic panel, which you know – I’m not a materials guy. But it does feel pretty damn nice in the hand. They come in two colors – black and white. They have nice detailing around the oval design – a very premium look. 1More has still managed to keep the footprint quite small. The buds are a bit hard to take out of the case, and tend to slip a little.
  • You get fast USB Type C and wireless charging. In terms of battery life – you’re getting decent performance on paper. 5.5 hours on the buds with ANC on and 20 hours in total with the case. ANC off means 8 hours on the buds and 28 with the case.
  • And apart from the standard small, medium, and large ear tips. You get extra small and extra large too – depending on how well endowed you are. Your ears are. And speaking of tips, they’ve got an oval shape to help with comfort. Comfort hasn’t been great for us 1More earbuds in the past – does the new design change that? We’ll reserve judgment on that in the full review. And if it turns out that they do have a good fit, we see ourselves using them for workouts. Since these are IPX4 they should be just fine. The case isn’t water resistant.
The 1More Evo (Black) has a solid case, has an IPX4 rating. The case is not rated for water resistance.
  • When it comes to sound, you’re getting LDAC and AAC. Their sound profile reminds us of a pair of wireless earbuds that cost quite a bit more and we really liked. You’re also getting a 10mm dynamic driver and a balanced armature driver. For now we’ll say it sounds good – and not add any nuance. Sorry. On the not so positive side, they’ve got Sonarworks’ SoundID to build a custom sound profile tuned to your own hearing preferences which we’ve not really been fans of so far. There’s also no EQ if you wanna get down and dirty with the sound customization. The default tuning out of the box is going to be important here, so stay subscribed for the full review.
  • Now we haven’t put the microphones through their paces in all conditions – but Rohan has been exclusively using these for a while and in relatively quiet conditions… well it’s looking good. 1More says it has 6 mics and a deep neural network algorithm in play but big words don’t impress us, so we’ll be popping and testing these in the full review.

So we can’t wait to put these bad boys through its paces and test, test the sound, ANC, microphones and comfort. Are you guys excited? Anything you’d like to know specifically about them? Let us know in the comments or on our Discord server. Yes we finally gave in, we have discord now.

You’ve been feeling insecure about your earholes and we’ve been DHRME. Namaste!
