The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra MagSafe Rugged Case is Curious
The official Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Rugged Magnet case is finally here. Samsung promises that it will deliver robust protection. But what we love is that it get rids of the table wobble that the naked S26 Ultra has. Oh and of course: MagSafe compatibility. This means you can finally leverage the growing ecosystem of MagSafe accessories, something Samsung sadly couldn’t put inside the S26 Ultra itself.
We like the case’s grippy sides, but strangely many comments online state the opposite. So I guess, your mileage might vary!
As an official Samsung accessory, you know that some aspects are going to be spot on. For example, the buttons are perfectly aligned, and all cutouts are precisely placed, ensuring seamless access to ports and, crucially, the S Pen, which functions without any interference—a notable advantage over some third-party magnetic cases. Installation and removal are easy and quick to do. So if you live that multi-case life – more power to you!
However, the case isn’t without its drawbacks. While the camera protection is appreciated, the design can make cleaning dust trapped between the lenses a more challenging task. For those who frequently swap SIM cards, be prepared for a minor inconvenience, as the case needs to be removed to access the SIM tray.
Despite its functionality, the case feels less than premium. Which given its price point, ranging between $40 and $80 is kinda disappointing. The ribbed pattern, a prominent design element, is also a matter of personal taste—you’ll either appreciate its aesthetic and tactile feedback or you won’t.
